This paper narrates some ideas about the material selection of outdoor water-borne wooden product coatings with waterborne matt varnish as example： analyzes the requirements for the selection of resin, fungicide, ultraviolet absorbent, thickening agent, flint forming agent, flatting agent, defoaming agent and substrate wetting agent, The ideas will provide foundation for the further study.
