China, Singapore to Build 100bn Ynan High-tech Zone The ground-breaking of the Singapore- Sichuan High-tech Innovation Park took place on May 8. The park, jointly funded by the Sichuan provincial government and a Singapore company, will eventually cover 10.34 square kilometres and house 120,000 residents in the Sichuan provincial capital, Chengdu. It is expected to attract investment of 100 billion yuan （US$16 billion） by 2020. According to guidelines set by the Sichuan government, the park will focus mainly on eight industrial sectors, including information technology, service outsourcing and digital media.
