The paper introduces the features of pipe sinking compacted gravel pile construction adopting the 'air-assistance' method and its superiority. It is characterized by the great depth of ground treatment, high displacement ratio, high density of pile body and notable solidification effect etc. All these are verified by practical engineering examples.
