摘要
教师是教育实践的道德主体,必须以实现教育的终极价值为己任。教育的终极价值是帮助和促进人的精神的完满发展,促进心灵的丰盈和健全。教育的终极价值超越于教育的工具价值。如果工具价值僭越终极价值,就会导致教育的工具化。教师作为知识分子,必须具有教育良知,具有对教育终极目的的理解,具有对于好的教育的深刻认识与信念,不断追求教育的终极价值的实现。教育良知使得教师形成自己的教育理想,形成对教育行动的清醒和敏感的反思,使教育工作与教育的终极价值相符合。有良知的教师是文明社会的促进者,是文化崇高精神的保护者,是优秀人性的培育者,是社会进步的推动者。
Being moral agents in educational practices, teachers ought to commit the obligation to actualize the ultimate val- ue and end of education. Education is a moral art to up - bring the humanity, to renew human experiences and to build no- ble spiritedness and its ultimate end is to guide and promote the healthiness and perfectibility of human soul and character. If this ultimate value is arrogated by those instrumental values, education must be instrumentalized and it will face degrada- tion and distortion. Teachers as intellectuals have educational conscience which shows that they have a sound understanding and application of the meaning and ultimate end of education in their actions. With educational conscience they can form their belief in the ideal of education and they can awake their reflections and deliberations of their actions. Teachers ought to be the facilitator of social civilization, the protector of the cultural essential spirit, the educator of humanity, the promoter of social progress. It is due to the educational consciences of teachers who cherish and adhere to the ultimate values that the noble ethos of education is not forgotten and lost.
