The Functions of WTO in Post Crisis Era

2008年的国际金融危机爆发后使得人们重新审视国际金融和贸易体系。多哈回合谈判的破裂,使WTO的公信力一度下降,WTO协调世界贸易的作用遭受质疑。WTO协调世界贸易职能的削弱存在主观和客观原因。在世界经济增长乏力的情况下,WTO应发挥世界性组织的作用,推进世界贸易体系改革,维护发展中成员的利益,建立更有利的贸易环境,为世界经济的复苏和发展做出应有的贡献。

People began to revisit the international finance and trade system after the international finance crisis in 2008. The breakdown of the Doha negotiations made the credibility of the WTO dropped, and the role of the WTO to coordinate the world trade have been challenged. There have been not only subjective reasons but objective reasons weakening the functions of the WTO coordination for the world trade. In the ease that the world economy grows weakly, WTO should play the role of the world- wide organization to promote the reform of the world trade system, to safeguard the interests of the developing members, to estab- lish a more favorable trade environment, and make its contribution to world economic development.
