An Analysis of the Differences in Speech Act of Making Request in Chinese and American English from Cultural Factors

通过研究中美在"请求言语行为"中表现出来的差异,从宗教、思维模式及受文化背景影响程度等方面对语言与文化之间的关联作了深层次的探讨和分析,为中国人应该如何在跨文化交际中成功并有效地实施请求言语行为,增强中国英语学习者的文化感知力,为教授和学习英语提供借鉴。

Through studying the differences between Chinese and Americans in making requests, this paper analyzes the influence that the cultural differences have on the languages from three aspects： religion, think- ing mode and power distance. The authoress proposes some suggestions on how to increase the consciousness of cultural differences for Chinese learners of English so as to make requests in cross-cultural communication more successfully and effectively and learn the English language better.
