‘YOUNG GUARDS’ IN BANKS

在国内，有不少年富力强的“新一代”银行家，未来可能掌舵一家商业银行，他们各具特长，决定着银行业的未来，但经验欠缺，尚需磨砺。今年5月，胡润研究院发布了一个特殊的榜单——《少壮派富豪榜》，这个榜单不同以往，只对40岁以下的年轻富豪进行排行，上榜门槛为10亿元。榜单显示，过去1年，内地共有33位“少壮派”富豪上榜。

In China, there are many young bankers who are in the prime of life and full of vigour. They occupy important positions and have obtained excellent achievements. Besides, they are professional and familiar with the market. Possessing a global outlook is an essential condition for them. Most of them once studied or worked overseas and introduced many advanced financial concepts into China. Meanwhile, they have a better understanding of risk management in commercial banks than their predecessors.They have infused new life and energy into China’s banking industry. Any of them may become the president of a bank in the future. However, they also face some challenges.First, the selection and employment mechanism of China’s banking industry is not perfect. Thus, talented bankers may not be able to get the recognition they deserve, which would result in "brain drain".Second, they lack experience in handling economic fluctuations while their predecessors have more experience in dealing with the changes of external environment. It is still unknown whether they could remain calm in the face of disaster.
