摘要
托马斯·沃尔夫(1900-1938)是上世纪二、三十年代活跃在美国文坛的著名小说家。他以"百科全书式"的人生探索和掺和着迷惘与追求、痛苦与激愤的复杂情感世界,显示出超越南方地域文化特征的思想和精神内涵,形成了自己别具特色的创作风格。文章从译介出版、总体研究、文本研究三个方面全面回顾中国学术界的沃尔夫研究成果,可以看出无论在成果数量还是研究力度上,沃尔夫研究在国内英美文学研究中都是刚刚起步。我们已经翻译出版了沃尔夫的主要作品,我们还未从文化、宗教、语言、创作技巧等多个方面对沃尔夫的思想和作品进行深入的研究和解读。与国外沃尔夫研究相比,我们还有明显的差距。
Thomas Wolfe （1900-1938） was a major American novelist of the early 20th century. With his ＂encyclopedic＂ exploration of life and complex emotional world of confusion and pursuit, affliction and sensation, he displayed the connotation and spiritual essence beyond the southern characteristics of regional culture and formed his own distinctive style. Reviewing and summarizing the research achievements on Thomas Wolfe from the translations, introductions and publications in China, we know that research on Wolfe in China is at an initial stage. We have translated and published Wolfe＇s main works, but we haven＇t made a thorough study and further explanation of his thoughts and main works from the aspects of culture, religion, language and writing techniques. Compared with the studies on Thomas Wolfe abroad, an in-depth study is needed.
