Cao Er - kan is a representative writer in the early Qing Dynasty. Through some literature materials that can be acquired, this paper researches his family background, life story and literary activities, and emphasizes on the impact of the ＂Zouxiao case＂ that gave on him as well as his accomplishments and position in the three important writing and replying activities in the early Qing Dynasty in order to offer references for the researchers.
