Oncostatin M, diabetes and its vascular complications

摘要 抑瘤素M(OSM)是白细胞介素-6超家族成员,是一种多功能的细胞因子,参与细胞生长、分化、炎性反应、造血过程以及组织重塑等多种生物学过程。近年来研究发现,OSM与糖尿病及其血管并发症密切相关,确切的机制尚不清楚,可能是通过自分泌和旁分泌的方式,促进自身和其他细胞因子的分泌,参与胰岛素抵抗、肥胖等的发生,从而导致糖尿病及其血管损伤。 Oncostatin M (0SM) is a multifunctional cytokine which belongs to the interleukin (IL)-6 subfamily. OSM involves in many biological activities such as the growth and differentiation of cells, inflam-mation, hemopoiesis, as well as tissue remodeling. Recent studies show that 0SM has a close relationship with diabetes and its vascular complications. However, the definite mechanisms are still unknown. OSM might induce the secretion of itself and other cytokines by autoerine and paraerine manners, participate in insulin resistance and obesity ,leading to the pathogenesis of diabetes and its vascular injury.
