This paper presents a review of new achievements of major emergent imaging systems developed during the 1990s,and an outline of main merits of digital imaging systems.The authors pointed out the limitations covered by the traditional concept of photographic organic compounds,and thereby moved some amendment to that concept.Several new types of organic compounds dedicated for these new imaging materials are introduced.
