PACTE翻译能力模式之反思

Rethinking on the Translation Competence Model by PACTE

PACTE提出的翻译能力模型被某些译学研究者称为迄今为止最为系统、最为复杂的一个可视化模型。然而,通过对能力概念和习得规律的思考,笔者认为PACTE对翻译能力的概念仍存在逻辑上的模糊,因此对译者能力习得过程的分析不尽合理,次能力模式研究方法也有弊端。文章从能力概念分析入手,重新审视翻译能力模式的构成,认为翻译能力是指译者在不同的语境中使用合适的工具和方法来解决翻译中遇到的问题的素质,是一种从低级能力到高级能力的发展过程。

Translation competence model proposed by PACTE is regarded by some scholars as the most systematical and sophisticated in the world. However, some ambiguities on the definition of competence still exist, resulting in the irrational analysis on the process in the acquisition of translation competence. This paper, beginning with the analysis of the definition of competence, tries to figure out the essence of translation competence. It is found that translation compe- tence, indeed, refers to the translator＇s ability to solve various questions in different context.
