“闰”义考

An Examination of Run's Meaning

"闰"的本义为"余数",与中国传统历法有关。蔡元定在《燕乐》中将"变宫"称为"闰",是对古代历法中"闰"这个名称的借用,从《朱文公文集》《词源》《事林广记》及其他相关文献可知,"闰"即"变宫"是没有疑问的。"闰"在音乐中作为一个声名使用,与当时的文化背景——宋人复古尚雅的观念有关。

Originally, run means the complement of a number, which is related to the traditional Chinese calendar. In Yart Music, the author Cai Yuanding borrows the name from the calendar and uses it to call ＂biangong＂. From other related literature, we know there is no doubt that run is ＂biangong＂. That it is further used as a name of tone in music has something to do with people＇ s wishes of restoring ancient ways and worship of elegance.
