This paper discusses the concept, effect and clinical application of specific acupoint, in order to discuss the status of specific acupoint in acupuncture foundation course teaching. Specific acupoint has a special status in correlations of major function of acupoint because it is a hinge of meridians cross-connecting and connecting relationship, there is Chan- nel-qi thus pass and collect in the special status, special status has an important and specific medicinal properties which is used widely in lots of disease. So teachers should consider the important status of specific acupoint in acupuncture foundation course teaching, and conclude, compare, analyze and summarize the special status for students from different angles, so that give a firm foundation for students in learning the each theory of acupoints.
