林纾抄本小说《明时演义》考述

Investigation of the Novel The Romance of the Ming Dynasty Copied by Lin Shu

《明时演义》是林纾在民国期间抄写的一部报章小说合集,现存上海师范大学图书馆,属海内外孤本。小说作者、发表刊物均无记载。本文对林纾抄写该小说时的心境及这部小说的内容作了论述,通过考辨指出,其作者应是清末民初报人小说家程道一,该文刊于民国时期的北京报刊。抄本小说《明时演义》对了解当时的报刊文学发展及目前的林纾研究有一定的参考价值。

The Romance of the Ming Dynasty was a newspaper novel which was copied by Lin Shu when he taught in Peking University. As an only existing copy, it is collected at Shanghai Normal University Library. Neither the author of the novel nor the name of the newspaper on which it was published was recorded. Research shows that the author was the newspaper novelist of the Man nationality Cheng Daoyi. The novel was published on newspapers in Beijing in the period of the Republic of China. It is of some significance for the study of newspaper literature in the late Qing Dynasty and early period of the Republic of China as well as the study of Lin Shu.
