民国时期北京育英学校述略

Beijing Yu Ying School in the Republic of China

北京育英学校是美国公理会开办的教会学校,教学设施及师资均属一流,教学质量远近闻名。学校不仅引进了西方教育模式,课程多样,而且还开展了文艺、体育、卫生等丰富多彩的校园活动,使学生得到西方现代文明熏陶的同时,在德、智、体方面全面发展。育英学校在中西异质文化交流碰撞背景下不断改进完善教学环境,也推动了北京教育的早期现代化进程。

Yu Ying School was founded by the American Mission Board in Beijing in modern China. With the first-class facilities and staff, it was well known for its good quality of teaching. Adopting Western education system, the school offered diverse curriculums and organized a variety of campus activities. In consequence, the students were well developed morally, intellectually and physically. Yu Ying continued to improve the teaching and learning environment and promoted the educational modernization of Beijing in the context of Chinese and Western cultural exchange.
