The intellectual youth down to the countryside movement which lasted more than 20 years had a significant impact on the Chinese society;So it＇ s necessary to research this movement from multiple angles. From the perspective of population migration, the rustication of the urban intellectual youth is a special type of the human migration ,which had complex impacts on the departure point, the destination point and migrants. Analyzing and learning from the historical experience is beneficial for the society development and progress today.
