摘要 Rare earth metals: We may not know what they are, but they're all around ~us in our daily lives. Seventeen chemical elements buried in the Earth's crust, they play a vital role in everyday electronic devices - as the power inside lithium-ion batteries - and in many clean technologies, from electric car motors to solar panels and wind turbines. It's no wonder, then, that our demand for dyspro- sium, neodymium, terbium and the rest has increased rapidly in recent years.
