摘要 “深耕”中端市场将是中国家具厂商的未来发展之路。 Although the gross output of Chinese furniture rose to RMB1.01 trillion at an annual rate of 25.6% in 2011,the industry was disturbed by some underlying worries. The domestic demand for furniture began to decline as the country kept restricting house purchasing to control its exorbitant house prices.Accordingly, the investments on fixed assets of furniture manufacturing industry fell to RMB119.233 billion in 2011.Meanwhile,the country's export growth rate of furniture fell to 15.2% from last year's 30.2%.The furniture consumption per capita in China is still lower than that in rich countries. Many of the Chinese furniture manufacturers relied heavily on exports, and some of them closed down during the global financial woes.As the overseas markets keep reviving gradually,China's furniture makers will try to reposition their enterprises. For these wanderers, the high-end markets are always the playgrounds for a few tycoons. The low-end markets are generally deserts bearing few yields. The most valuable goldmines for Chinese firms to exploit are those markets with steadily expanding consumers and moderate demands. That is the mid-markets.
