城市广场是表达城市风貌的突出节点，塑造特征鲜明的广场性格是体现城市特色的关键。通过建筑师对广场各构成因素的把握，运用理性的设计方法，使城市广场由客观形象表达其寓意内涵，让人们感知广场性格，进而增强城市的可印象性。本文以哈尔滨市三个形态、功能、地理位置各异的广场为例，从城市文脉、人的行为、空间构成等方面对广场性格的塑造作出简要的分析，探求符合现代生活需求的城市广场创造途径。

Urban square is the outstanding node point to express the style and the feature of a city, and creating distinctive character of squares is the key to show the characteristics of a city. By means of the grasp of construction elements and the application of rational design methods, implied meaning of urban squares can be expressed from objective image, as well as the characteristics of squares can be perceived by people. So the imaginable of squares can be greatly strengthened. Based on three squares in Harbin, which are different in shape, function and position, the paper trys to make out the concise analysis of the way to build up character of urban squares, and to seek pragmatic methods according to the needs of modem life: through the urban context, the action of people, the forming of space and so on.
