改革现阶段高校英语专业翻译教学管见

Opinions on the Reformation of Current Translation/Interpretation Teaching of University English Majors

随着我国经济的快速发展和国际地位的日益提高,政治、经济、文化等各个领域、各个层面的国际交往也越来越频繁,对翻译人才的需求急剧增大。统计数据显示,我国目前翻译人才存在很大的缺口,翻译人才的培养已远远不能适应社会发展的需要。目前,英语专业翻译教学普遍存在的问题是:教学目标落后于社会需求;教学目的不明确;教学科目设计单一,缺乏有效的测试手段。针对以上四个方面的问题,本文提出了几个改进教学的策略:重新定位教学目标;扩大授课内容设计的专业领域;建立翻译课程体系;将NAETI考试纳入英语专业翻译能力评定。

With the rapid development in economics , the rising of China＇s international status, and the frequent international exchange in politics, economics and cultures, the demand for translators and interpreters have been increasing rapidly. Statistics show that there is large insufficiency in translators and interpreters, which has greatly affected the social development. The current status requires that university students＇translating and interpreting competence must be taken seriously and systematically trained. Current- ly, there are problems in translation and interpretation teaching of English majors ： teaching objectives falling behind the social re- quirement , simple course design, and insufficiency in test methods. Aiming at the above problems, the following teaching strategies have been put forward ： relocate teaching objectives, enlarge the subject field of teaching materials, establish translation/interpretation course system, and bring the NAETI into the evaluation of translating and interpreting competence for English majors .
