Novels written by the French author Jean Echenoz present an interesting geographic abnormality: the faraway exotic places recall the pedestrian and ordinary sceneries, while the familiar life spaces are paradoxically strange. Characters who rush through those places are the fake tourists and the real homeless. This original geographic narrative artistically presents the quandaries of the characters living in the postmodern society and transmits the author's serious reflection on the possible exit they could make.
