摘要
多年来,语言学家们从语义、逻辑、修辞、辩论等多角度来研究语言的模糊性,逐渐形成了模糊语言学这一边缘学科。模糊语言理论对语言中的许多模糊现象有很强的解释力,为我们提供了一条描述、研究语言的新途径。本文通过分析国外学者对语言模糊现象的研究,包括来自人文、社会和自然科学角度研究出来的结论,来探讨语言模糊性产生的原因。文章首先分析了早期关于语言模糊性的研究的结果,最后分析了模糊质量研究往数量研究发展的历史;接着分析了传统集合论到模糊集合论的重要意义。通过揭示语言的模糊性产生与人类交际行为、认知的关系,最后探讨语言模糊性形成的原因。本文的主要意义在于让母语非汉语学习者能通过了解汉语模糊性特点,对他们母语语言模糊现象的进行比较,提高汉语学习中掌握模糊词语、句子的使用能力,有利于提高学生跨文化交际能力。
For many years, the fuzziness of language has been studied by linguists from different perspec- tives, such as semantics, logic theory, rhetoric and debate. As a result, fuzzy linguistics has become an interdisciplinary subject. Fuzzy linguistic theories can explain very well many phenomena concerningfuzziness in language and provide us with a new way of describing and studying language. This article provides an analysis of the previous studies on language luzziness made by foreign scholars from the per- spectives of humanities, social sciences and natural science, with the aim of investigating the cause of language fuzziness. First of all, the author analyses the results of early studies on language fuzziness. Secondly, he reviews how the quality research evolves into the quantity research in this area. Thirdly, the author discusses the importance of Fuzzy Set Theory. Finally, this article explores the cause of language fuzziness through the analysis of the relations between language fuzziness, human communication and cog- nition theories. The main purpose of this article is to help the people speak Chinese as a second language know the fuzzy features of this language and be able to compare them with those of their native languages, so that their abihties of using fuzzy words and sentences and cross - cuhural communicative competence can be improved.
