Professional development of college English teachers in higher vocational education

摘要 本文阐述了我国高等职业教育的发展及其对高职高专教师发展提出的"双师素质"要求。在剖析当前高职高专公共英语教师所面临困境的基础上,文章提出了高职高专公共英语教师的发展途径:(1)赴企业实践锻炼,增加行业实践经历;(2)拓展专业知识领域;(3)加强与专业教师合作教学。 This paper discusses the growing demand for higher vocational education in China, and its impact on teacher development, with the special focus on developing college English teachers' dual competenees in academia and industry. Based on an analysis of the predicament that college English teachers are in at present, the paper ex- pounds on ways of teacher professional development in higher vocational education: ( 1 ) accumulating experience in enterprises, (2) increasing professional knowledge, and (3) cooperating with other teachers and professionals.
