宜春城区小学英语教师专业素质现状调查及启示

A Survey and its Enlightenments on Primary School English Teachers' Professional Qualities in Yichun City

小学英语教师专业素质是有效实施小学英语教育的关键。对江西宜春市中心城区小学英语教师专业素质的调查发现,教师数量严重不足,教师专业素质不够完善。教师虽然具有比较丰富的英语语言知识,然而在教学理念及教学方法等方面难以满足英语新课标关于小学英语的教学要求。导致目前教学实践中,忽略小学英语教学规律,挫伤小学生英语学习兴趣,难以实现小学英语教学效果。因此,必须尽快建设小学英语教育专业,以扩大教师培养规模;改革当前小学英语教师课程培养体系,不断完善其素质结构;建立健全专门的小学英语教师资格证书制度,规范素质要求,为教师专业发展创造条件。

The teachers＇ professional quality is the key to enforcing primary school English education. A survey on the primary school English teachers in Yichun City shows that there＇ s great insufficiency both in teachers＇ quanti- ty and quality. Although the teachers have comparatively abundant knowledge of English, they are not qualified e- nough to meet the demands made in the New English Curriculum Standard in teaching concepts and methods. As a result, at present, teachers take no notice of English teaching rules in primary schools, and the pupils＇ interest is seriously frustrated. The prospective efficiency of English teaching can＇ t be fulfilled. Therefore, the major con- struction of primary English education should be taken into consideration without delay. Only in this way can many more teachers be fostered to satisfy the demand. The current curriculum of teachers＇ fostering should also be re- formed to improve their profession.al quality. A special certificate system for primary English teachers should be es- tablished to help them develop their professional skills and thus improve their teaching career as an English teacher.
