In 1982,The Museum of Modern Art(MOMA) held a retrospective exhibition for a female artist for the first time and this artist is Louise Bourgeois(1911-2010).After this exhibition,her works had shaken European critics and were continuously exhibited all over the world,receiving countless honors and awards.Bourgeois is regarded as the important person in the field of contemporary sculpture and as one of the most influential female artists in today' s art circle.Her work 'Spider' created in 1996 broke the auction records of female artists after World WarⅡwith 10,722,500 dollars on Christie' s auction in 2011.The series of 'Spider' is the pinnacle of her career and because of this work she is known as the 'Spider Woman' in art circle.In this essay,author tries to analyse and studies the big installation work in the series of 'Spider' and to explore the creative intentions of Bourgeois and the spiritual sense of 'Spider'.
