在退休后的近十年中,钱理群对"社会的鲁迅"与"真的知识阶级"有了更多的认识,并将其作为阐释重点。同时,他一如既往地坚持启蒙主义与民间立场,"沉入于国民"中,传播普及鲁迅精神。由于启蒙主义本身的局限与特殊时代背景的限制,钱理群的启蒙工作注定收效甚微。然而,其启蒙行为本身就具有重大意义。

Nearly a decade after retirement,QianLiqun have more awareness of ＂social Lu Xun ＂and＂ really educated class ＂ and he put them as the focus of study.While he continue to adhere to the enlightenment and the folk position,he ＂sink into in the nationals＂,publicize and spread the spirit of LuXun.Duo to the limitations of the enlightenment itself and the special historical background,the enlightenment work of Qian Liqun destined to have little effect.But in such an era that there is almost no idealistm and enlightenment,Qian Liqun＇s Enlightenment act itself is of great significance.
