禁忌文化与翻译中的“雅化”

Taboo Culture and Eleganization

译者受文化差异的影响必然在翻译过程中对源语文本加以变通,从而产生符合目的语文化的文本。由于中西文化在道德伦理价值观上的差异,在英汉翻译实践中译者往往采用"雅化"的方式对源语文本中不符合目的语文化的禁忌文化进行淡化。本文以文学翻译实例为佐证,从中西文化差异的角度对文学作品翻译中的"雅化"进行解读。

Translation is the communicating and merging process of culture.Profoundly influenced by the culture of both source and target language,translators have to make some conversions in order to produce a text in accordance with the culture of the target language.Due to the differences of western and Chinese culture in the aspect of ethics,translators usually elegenizes the taboo culture.In this paper,some literature translation examples are selected and by analyzing the reason of culture difference,it forms a new interpretation of elegenization.
