When selecting majors,both Chinese and American college students usually consider their interests,the potential job opportunities,the potential of career development,the educational experience and some other important factors,so the process is very rational.Comparatively speaking,Chinese college students lay more emphasis on the potential job opportunities,they are more influenced by the family background and their parents when selecting majors while American college students lay more emphasis on their own interests and the potential of career development and the family background and parents have relatively less influence.
