Genesis and artistic aspirations of the original folk opera The Canal Ballad

国家大剧院2012年歌剧季中,《运河谣》作为新推出的一部原创民族歌剧剧目,由黄维若、董妮编剧,印青作曲,廖向红导演。6月21日至24日,这部歌剧在国家大剧院歌剧院连演四场,观众反应热烈,很多人被它清纯自然的故事所打动。《运河谣》是迄今为止国家大剧院的第四部原创歌剧,它是一部以民族唱法为载体的歌剧作品。这部歌剧没有轰轰烈烈的历史场面,也没有民族斗争的战争情节,而是通过对剧中人物在运河上跌宕起伏的命运的描写,歌颂了爱情与人性的美好。

The Canal Ballad,NCPA's first original folk opera,premiered on 21-24 June.This production,with libretto by Huang Weiruo and Dong Ni and music by Yin Qing,was directed by Liao Xianghong, and received enthusiastically by the audience.The Canal Ballad is the fourtli original opera commissioned by the NCPA to date.Although it does not contain grand scenes or fierce battles,it depicted true humanity along the Grand Canal.
