摘要
评注式翻译是国际翻译教育界普遍采用的一种有效的教学和研究手段,但国内翻译教学和研究者比较忽视这一手段的使用。鉴于此种情况,本文首先探讨了评注式翻译的使用动机和理论依据,并对其在西方高校的应用和研究现状进行综述。随后笔者结合自己所做的一个评注式翻译案例,详细描述评注式翻译的过程,分析并指出评注式翻译能够强化学习者对自己翻译行为的监控意识、促进学习者深刻理解和掌握翻译的基本原理和方法并有助于翻译教师客观评价学习者掌握翻译原理和方法的情况。
Translation with commentary,or annotation translation,has been widely practiced in tertiary translation education in many countries and regions,while this pedagogic procedure for training professional translators is largely overlooked in China's universities and colleges.This paper discusses the motivation behind and theoretical foundation of this procedure,i.e.metacognition,and reviews its applications and researches.The authors then present a case of translation with commentary they carried out in their teaching and,with reference to the case,comment on the merits of this procedure,including notably the raising of trainee translators' awareness of the translation process,the promotion of their internalization of the fundamental principles and the translation methods they have learned and a more accurate assessment of the trainees' learning outcomes on the part of instructors.
