The excavation of five-way bifurcations in the tailrace system of Nuozhadu Hydropower Station has characteristics of complex geological conditions, compact cavern layout, high hollow out rate, thin rock pillar, serious construction interference and difficult rock stability control. Through selecting excavation procedures and programs elaborately, collecting and analyzing monitoring data in good time and adjusting supporting procedures in no time, the excavations of five-way bifurcations are safe, high-quality and rapid.
