FOR Chinese literature,it is the best of times,and it is the worst of times,to quote the opening sentence of Charles Dickens’A Tale of Two Cities.Literary critic Zhu Dake laments the bleak wasteland that literature has become,while poet Ye Kuangzheng has simply declared it dead.Yet the year 2011 saw the publication of 4,000 fulllength works of ction in China.
