Major Discoveries of Sino-Kenyan Cooperative Underwater Archaeological Survey in Coastal Areas of Kenya in 2010

2010年11月至2011年1月,中国国家博物馆水下考古研究中心联合肯尼亚国立博物馆沿海考古部组成肯尼亚沿海水下考古工作队,开始实施中肯合作肯尼亚沿海水下考古援助项目,并顺利完成了第一年度调查工作。此次调查工作主要围绕肯尼亚沿海地区拉穆群岛、马林迪海域进行,发现了6处水下文化遗存线索,并对拉穆岛谢拉东侧海域水下遗址进行了较大规模的水下调查和测绘,取得了一些重要成果,为下一年度深入调查奠定了基础。

Between November, 2010 and January, 2011, the Underwater Archaeology Research Centre of National Museum of China collaborated with the Department of Coastal Archaeology of National Museums of Kenya in the Sino-Kenyan Cooperative Archaeological Project in Lamu Archipelago Areas in the coastal areas of Kenya. ]-he underwater archaeological team successfully completed the first year investigation, during which six clues to underwater cultural heritage had been discovered in the Lamu Archipelago and the Malindi district. In addition, important discoveries were made after a major survey and mapping of the underwater sites east of Shela at Lamu. These discoveries have laid foundation for in-depth investigation in the following year.
