On Wang Tinggui's Poetic Theory and its Significance

王庭王圭是两宋之交的重要诗人,他重视诗歌对现实的反映与干预,强调诗歌对自身情志的抒发;在诗歌创作方面,他对悟性、灵感较为重视,强调诗歌创作的自然天成,注重对诗歌的琢磨与锤炼,追求清新流丽的语言,对平淡诗风很是推重。王庭王圭诗论和对江西诗派的自觉批判为中兴诗人提供了新变之先声,为其创作指出了向上一路。

Wang Tinggui was an important poet between Northern and Southern Song dynasties. He attached great importance to reflection of the reality and intervention in the reality in poetry and emphasized expressing poets＇ own feelings and aspiration in poetry. In terms of poetry creation, he paid more attention to understanding and inspiration, stressed creating poetry in a natural way and lays great stress on refining and polishing poetry.He pursued fresh and smooth language and plain styles in poetry. Wang Tinggui＇s poetic theory and his conscious criticism of Jiangxi poetry school provided the herald of new changes for the four poets of the middle- renascence period, four greats in Southern Song dynasty, and pointed out the up-and-up way for their poetrycreation.
