“五四”时期的主要传播媒介是出版物。“五四”新文化借助出版这一物质形式而传播思想,繁衍壮大。新出版则在“五四”新文化的生长中开辟自己的前进道路。“五四”对新出版的贡献在于引发了出版格局的重造、思想和出版的会合、编辑生产力的变革。“五四”在开辟中国历史新纪元的同时,也开辟了中国出版史的新时代。
Publications were the chief medium of dissemination in the 'May 4'period of 1919. The 'May 4'new culture,by means of the material form of publications, disseminated new ideology and developed itself. new Publications opened the way for its own advances, as the 'May 4'new culture grew. The contribution that the 'May 4'made was initiating restructuring of the publication patterns, integrating ideology and Publication, and carrying out reforms in editing productivity The 'May 4'created a new era in Chinese history as well as in the history of Publication in China.
