"Qing" Category in Classical Chinese Literature

"情"是艺术的基本元素。由于它的本源性,以及它属于较早的范畴,所以其不仅是一个本体范畴,且作为起始范畴,成为构词的基础。在古典文学语境中,根据"情景"范畴的语义和二者间的关系,以"情"范畴为基础构成的"情～"范畴具有各自的语义、特征及重要的修辞作用。

＂Qing （emotion）＂ is a fundamental element of art. As it has long been regarded as one of the sources of art, it is not only an ontological literary category but it is also the basis of word combination. In the context of classical Chinese literature, the relation of ＂Qing＂ with other categories justifies it to combine other words to form structures introduced by it, which have their own meanings, features and rhetoric functions.
