摘要
衔接是构成语篇的重要成分,是实现连贯的重要途径。以Halliday和Hasan的衔接理论为基础,结合分析衔接手段在相关语篇中的运用,对比了英汉语言在衔接上的差异,指出衔接理论对大学英语教学的积极意义,以期通过衔接理论的探讨,推动大学英语教学改革,促进学生英语学习能力的提升。
Cohesion is an important component constituting a discourse and an important way to achieve coherence. Based on Halliday and Hasan's cohesion theory, this paper analyzes the practical use of cohesive devices in discourses and the differences of cohesion in English and Chinese. It points out the significance of cohesion theory for col- lege English teaching and reform. It proceeds to make suggestions for college English teaching in the hope of improving the students's English-learning ability with the help of cohesion theory.
