现代意义的"设计"一词来源于英文,可理解为"在现代语境下人所开展的富有创造力,改善人与人、人与物之间关系的劳动"。而设计教育,即启蒙、发掘、开拓人的设计思维,也即是把人对事物的感性的形象思维上升到理性的逻辑思维的复杂过程,它是培养现代设计人才的专门学科。面对当前我国设计教育中存在的诸多弊端,借鉴世界先进的理念、成功的模式并加以创新,形成具有中国特色的设计教育形式,才能培养出适应社会发展需要的、高水平的设计人才。
