Bing Xin, the famous Chinese writer, once said, "If there were no women in this world, 50 percent of the beauty, 60 percent of the gentleness, 70 percent of the love, and 80 percent of the toughness would be gone." The Peking Opera Lady Hanyu glorifies a gentle woman with good virtues. Lady Hanyu, rewritten from the classic Mei school play Remorse at Death, was Dong Yuanyuan's first performance after joined China National Peking Opera Theater.
