There are two possible positions for wh-phrases in Chinese wh-sluicing structures： Spec-CP and Spec-FP, resulting in two types of TP-deletion respectively as the complement of C or F. The former has no FOCUS requirement, and the latter requires that the FOCUS should be overtly or covertly marked with ＂shi＂, which helps to establish a new syntactic relations with the previous clause after TP-deletion.
