The present paper deals with a new species of the genus Diuterinotaenia belonging to the family Anoplocephalidae, and the diagnosis of the genus are emended. Diuterinotaenia polyclada Yun et Lin, sp.nov. (Figs.1 4) Host. Ochotona daurica Pallus. Location. Small intestine. Locality. Xilinguoleimeng Baiyinxile Pasture (43°48′N, 117°25′E),Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Holotype and paratype are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Academy of Sciences. Description. Strobila 256 268?mm in length and 4.5 4.7?mm in maximum width. Proglottids broader than long. Neck present,(0.5160 0.6805)mm×(0.1732 0.3959)mm,Immature proglottids (0.0520 0.0183)mm×(0.3117 1.5654)mm; mature(0.2869 0.5218)mm×( 2.1916 3.2873 )mm; gravid,(0.6522 0.6783)mm×(3.9390 3.9910)mm. Longitudinal excretory ducts 2 pairs. Two sets of reproductive organs per proglottid. Double genital pores opening at posterior part of the lateral margin of the proglottid, inclined to the middle. Scolex rounded, unarmed,(0.1905 0.3612)mm×(0.2878 0.5258)mm. Suckers 4, roundish, without spines,( 0 1558 0 1565)mm×0.1304?mm. Testes 58 75, roundish or elliptical,(0.0520 0.0866)mm×(0.0433 0.0953 )mm, distributes mainly in posterior half of the central area of mature proglottid, and posterior to the female genital organs. Cirrus pouch shuttle shaped,(0.1472 0.2165)mm in length,(0.0433 0.0693 )mm in diameter, with the bottom of the pouch not reaching the ventral longitudinal excretory ducts. External seminal vesicle small,(0.1299 0.1558)mm×(0.0258 0.0433)mm and internal seminal vesicle (0.0866 0.1472)mm×(0.0258 0.0433)mm Ovaries in lateral thirds of the central area of proglottid, with many pear shaped lobes. Vitelline gland compact, slightly lobed, posterior to ovay. Seminal receptacle present,(0.1992 0.2771)mm×(0.0606 0.0779)mm. Vagina tubiform, posterior to cirrus pouch. Uteri, first form sac like, roundish or elliptical, situated posterior to vagina and outside to excretory ducts, then transversely extend with numerous diverticula into testicula field. Gravid uteri transversely oriented, branched and lobated sacs. Eggs roundish or elliptical,(0.0301 0.0433)mm×( 0.0344 0.0433)mm. Discussion The new species may be readily distinguished from the only known species of this genus D spasskyi by the following features:1) in D. spasskyi , the size of the body and cirrus pouch smaller than that of the new species;2) in the new species the testes are 58 75 in number, while in D. spasskyi 45 56 in number;3) shape of uteri of the new species differs from the latter. In the new species, uteri, first form roundish sac like, situated posterior to vagina and outside to excretory ducts. Gravid uteri transversely oriented, branched and lobated sacs;while in D. spasskyi , uteri, first form as longitudinal tubes inside to excretory ducts. Gravid uteri longitudinally oriented, lobated sacs. The genus Diuterinotaenia was created by Gvosdev (1961) based on the type species D. spasskyi Gvosdev, 1961. Because of the different shape between uteri of the new species and type species, a revision of this generic diagnosis is necessary. Generic diagnosis Anoplocephalinae, medium sized worms. Scolex lacking apical organ or armature. Suckers simple. Neck present. Strobila acraspedote; proglottids breadth larger than length. Excretory canals paired. Two sets of reproductive systems per proglottid. Genital pores bilateral. Genital ducts dorsal to excretory canals. Testes numerous, mainly posterior to and between female genitalia.Cirrus pouch usually not reaching poral excretory canals. Ovaries lobated, in anterior half of proglottid. Vitelline glands posterior to ovaries. Vagina posterior to cirrus pouch. Seminal receptacle present. Uteri paired, the first form as two separate longitudinal tubes or roundish sacs lateral to ovaries, then extend with numerous diverticula into testicular field. Gravid uteri longitudinally or transversely oriented, lobated or branched sacs. Parasites
