摘要
培养学生的英语自主学习能力已成为大学英语课程教学的重要目标之一,这意味着大学英语教师要在教学思想、教学方法以及教学内容等方面做出重大改变,并在教学过程中侧重引导学生逐步培养起自主学习的意识和能力;学生也要转变自身英语学习的观念,及时适应新的学习模式,逐步承担起英语学习的主要责任。
The development of students' autonomous learning ability is one of the important objectives of college English teaching, which requires a significant shift for college English teachers in terms of teaching methodology, course materials, and theories of language teaching and learning. Meanwhile, students need to redefine their roles and to assume primary re- sponsibility for the learning process. This survey study makes a comparison of beliefs that college English teachers and students hold aiming at showing how they are similar to or different from each other in their understanding of learner autono- my. Based on the results, this paper further explores approaches to the development of learner autonomy in college English teaching.
