The paper presented the motivation, progress and roadblocks for venture capital to play a role in private medical institutions during the ongoing health reform. The author raised policy suggestions to introduce venture capital into private medical institutions, from such points as laws and regulations, establishment of state-owned venture capital firms, building of exit channels, establishment of managed healthcare market, and development of VC talents for healthcare industry.
