The difference of viability of soybean seeds in different age is evident.It isdifferentiated easily with methods of fluorescence,soft X-rays,electric conductivityand tetrazolium test.New seeds have bright blue-green fluorescence under ultraviolet rays;aged seeds,dim fluorescence.The pictures of soft X-rays of new seeds are darker than that ofaged seeds.The change of electric conductivity of new seeds is steadier than thatof aged seeds.New seeds are dyed bright red by TTC;aged seeds are not dyed orare dyed dark red with stains.
