彭真同志长期主持和领导我国法制建设,他从我国的国情出发,特别是总结十年动乱的教训,提出的坚持依法治国方略、强调法律面前人人平等、加强政法队伍建设及重视普法宣传教育等法治思想,对中国法制建设作出了重要贡献。

Peng Zhen was ever in long - term charge of the construction of China＇s legal system. Embarking from China＇s actual conditions and based on references of the lessons in Cultural Revolution, he put forward some thoughts on rule of law, such as adhering to administrating by the law, emphasizing individual equity before the law, improving the quali- ty of personnels in political and legal fields, and stressing publicity of legal education.
