从母语到非母语的翻译长期被忽视,但这种翻译现象在世界范围内长期存在,而且近年来日渐引起学界关注。本文旨在对国外的非母语翻译实践和理论进行梳理,以期为我国的对外翻译和文化输出事业提供借鉴。

Translation out of one＇ s mother tongue has been long frowned upon by scholars in the fields of translation, literature and linguistics. Despite the influence of the ＂mother tongue principle＂, translation from many ＂minor languages＂ or languages of limited diffusion into ＂dominant＂ languages has often been carried out by local translators. In recent years, people have shown a growing interest in non-mother tongue translation. Chinese translators and translation scholars can benefit from the experience of their foreign counterparts in their efforts to promote Chinese culture abroad.
