摘要
针对高校学生英文写作在衔接和连贯方面存在的问题,以功能语法中主述位及主位推进模式为理论基础,采用数据分析的方法(SPSS 11.5)对非英语专业大学本科生的作文进行研究,发现主位类型和主位推进模式的选择对作文分数有很大影响,较多运用复项主位和句式主位使文章句子较之采用单项主位更具多样性,从而使句与句之间的衔接更加连贯。研究表明主述位及主位推进模式对高校英文写作教学具有重要的指导意义,并提出相应的建议和有效策略。
In view of problems in contextual cohesion and coherence in university students' writings, based on theme types and thematic progression patterns in Functional Grammar, data analyses were made of non-English majors' English compositions(SPSS 11.5). Findings show: the application of theme types and thematic progression patterns greatly influences the composition score; more multiple themes and clausal themes than simple themes can diversify sentences in writing, which improves sentence co- herence. Therefore, theme types and thematic progression patterns are significant to writing teaching in college and university. Accordingly, corresponding suggestion and measures are put forward.
