Do a Good Job in All Work Related to Retired Cadres and Promote Vigorous Development and Prosperity of Socialist Culture

改革开放三十多年来,老干部工作在推动社会主义文化大发展大繁荣过程中发挥了重要的作用。但与此同时也存在着一些不足,如对老干部文化资源深度挖掘不够、对优秀传统和可贵精神的提炼与现实生活结合不够紧密、老干部文化活动形式单调等。因此,我们应认真挖掘老一辈革命者的思想精华和内核,加强老干部活动阵地"硬件"和老干部文化团体"软件"的资源整合,精心设计活动载体,建立有效的表彰激励机制,确保老干部群体成为社会主义文化大发展大繁荣的共建者和受益者。

Over more than thirty years of reform and opening-up, notable achievements have been made in all work related to retired cadres, which has played an important role in promoting vigorous development and prosperity of socialist culture. But some deficiencies exist simultaneously. For instance, the culture resources in retired cadres have not been completely tapped, our excellent traditions and spirits have not been closely combined with real life, and retired cadres＇ cultural activities are rather dull. It is, therefore, necessary to further tap the ideological essence of revolutionaries of the older generation, integrate their activity places resources as the ＂hardware＂ with cultural organization resources as the ＂software＂, be mediculous in design of activity carries, and set up an effictive incentive mechanism so as to ensure that the group of retired cadres become joint constructors and beneficiaries of vigorous development and prosperity of socialist culture.
