英汉翻译中修辞手法的可译性限度及其补偿策略

Limits of Translatability of Rhetorical Devices in English-Chinese Translation and the Corresponding Compensation Strategies

人类思维和思想感情的共同性构成了世界上各种语言的相融性和相似性,从而形成了语际翻译的可译性。而民族思维方式和文化背景,语言结构、语言表达方式的差异又往往造成语际翻译的可译性限度。在英汉翻译中,可译性限度主要表现在修辞手法上。文章从音律节奏、词汇修辞和修辞格三个方面分析英语修辞手法的可译性限度的产生原因及主要表现形式,探讨翻译中降低可译性限度的有效补偿策略以期有效提高译文的质量,促进跨文化的交流。

The concomitant of human thoughts and feelings cause the integration and similarity of languages in the world,which causes translatability of Interlingua translation.However,limits of translatability of Interlingua translation are caused by the differences of national thinking style,culture background,and language structure and language expression.Limits of translatability mainly reflect in rhetorical devices.It is helpful to analyze the causes of translatability limits and the main forms,explore the effective measures of decreasing translatability limits so as to improve the quality of translation,promote inter-culture communication and then provide guidance and reference to translation theory and practice.
